Two Subprojects part of newly approved DFG Collaborative Research Center "AgiMo"
We are proud to announce that two research projects from the Chair of Econometrics and Statistics, esp. in the Transport Sector, have been selected for funding within the newly approved Collaborative Research Center/Transregio SGB/TRR 408 "AgiMo – Data-Driven Agile Planning for Responsible Mobility," supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Our Chair contributes through two exciting subprojects:
- Project A7 – “Reinforcement Learning for Mode Choice Decision” Led by Prof. Dr. Ostap Okhrin, this project explores the use of reinforcement learning to understand and predict individual travel behavior and mode choice decisions more effectively
- Project B7 – “New Methods for Multi-Modal Microscopic Simulation of Street Users’ Behavior in Shared Space Contexts” Led by Dr. Martin Treiber, this project aims to develop detailed simulation techniques to better model the behavior of various street users — from pedestrians to vehicles — in dynamic, shared spaces.
These projects will play a crucial role in supporting AgiMo’s interdisciplinary effort to reshape how we plan for equitable, sustainable, and technically advanced mobility systems. We look forward to the insights and innovations that will emerge over the next 12 years.
