Practical Laboratory Course at the Chair of Automobile Engineering (LKT)
In May and June, as every summer semester, the practical laboratory course for students of automobile engineering took place at the LKT. During the four practical courses, the students can deepen and expand their knowledge of the complete vehicle, its subsystems and components, as well as get to know the methods for obtaining relevant vehicle parameters with the help of modern testing technology at the LKT.
Starting with component measurements to determine parameters relevant to comfort and driving dynamics at the Tire Test Rig, the basics of the wheel position parameters and their influence on the driving behavior at the Wheel Alignment Machine are determined. Based on this, the change of these parameters under different load situations and driving conditions is analyzed on the Suspension Motion Simulator. The course concludes with a practical course at the Vehicle Inertia Test Rig where students get to know various methods for determining the total mass, center of gravity and inertia parameters. To conclude this practical laboratory course, there will be the practical vehicle course at the Dekra Automotive Test Center at the Lausitzring in Klettwitz.
