Workshop Analytics Tools for Management Control

On January 25, 2022, Prof. Dr. Thomas Günther, Xenia Börner and Melanie Mischer hosted a digital workshop on the topic "Influence of Analytics Tools on Management Control". The participants of the survey of the same name, which the chair conducted last year, were invited. As part of the survey, the 3,000 largest German companies were asked about their implementation of analytics tools in management control. In the workshop, the results of the survey, which have been evaluated descriptively so far, as well as the first findings based on them were presented. The focus was on the design and use of analytics tools, the characteristics of which were presented in the form of maturity models. In addition, Mr. Ilin Dobrew, Managing Director of Enloc Energy GmbH, was invited to give a keynote speech. He used the example of his company to demonstrate the opportunities of digitization and gave the participants an insight into the controlling dashboard, which works with real-time data. Finally, an open discussion took place. In this discussion, the participants discussed the greatest challenges and the most valuable benefits of digitization for controlling. We would like to thank the companies for their active interest in our survey and the insights gained from it. We are always available for a further exchange of ideas.
