Article "Review and downscaling of life cycle decision support tools for the procurement of low-value products" published in the International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment
Based on a research project on Operating Room Textiles, Martin Nowack, Holger Hoppe and Edeltraud Guenther analyze, how environmental aspects can be derived from life cycle management instruments for procurement decisions of low-value products. They derive a decision vector consisting of four dimensions: 1. life cycle assessment results (energy use, CO2-equivalents, water and waste), 2. eco-labels, 3. environmental management system of the supplier and 4. country of origin. http://www.springerlink.com/content/d5r06836g86q7763/fulltext.pdf
