Practice meets theory: Exciting guest lecture on the double materiality analysis of UKA

On January 31, 2025, the students of the Sustainability Controlling lecture at the Chair of Sustainability Management and Corporate Environmental Economics had the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into the practical implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Luise Schob and Dr. Micheal Graßmann, both alumni of the Faculty of Economics at TU Dresden, returned to their old place of work to share UKA – Der Energieparkentwickler experiences with the double materiality analysis. It became clear that sustainability for UKA goes far beyond regulatory requirements - it is a central component of the business model.  

The practical presentation of the challenges and possible solutions in implementing the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in particular ensured a lively discussion. The many questions from the students showed the great interest in the concrete application of sustainability reporting and made clear the relevance of the topic for future specialists and managers.
