Development of highly reliable composite wood structures made of fibere-reinforced plastics, technical textiles, and compressed wood
Table of contents
Wood, a renewable material, is being developed into a modern composite material. Parallel to the technical development of new materials, the Chair of Environmental Management assessed the corresponding materials and technologies ecologically in order to identify these with the highest ecological benefits.
The fundamental part of the project was therefore the environmental performance measurement, with a special focus on decision making. The environmental performance measurement was realised based on the scientifically well-founded concept of life cycle assessment, which has been proven in practice.
The outcomes of the project will contribute to the sustainability strategy of the value chain of forest, wood, and construction.
