Successful Conclusion to the 8th Crowdinvesting Symposium at TU Dresden
The 8th Crowdinvesting Symposium, hosted by the Chair of Finance and Financial Technology at TU Dresden, on May 29, 2024, brought together scholars and industry professionals to discuss the latest trends and research in crowdinvesting. This year’s event featured engaging sessions on Crowdinvesting, Business Angels and Marketplace Lending, and European and Global Perspectives. A highlight of the symposium was the keynote speech delivered by Professor Andrew A. Schwartz from the University of Colorado Boulder. Professor Schwartz presented insights from his latest book, Investment Crowdfunding, sparking thoughtful discussions among attendees.
Throughout the day, scholars had the opportunity to present their research and receive valuable feedback from peers. The symposium also provided a platform for meaningful networking, allowing participants to connect with founders and CEOs of local crowdfunding and -investing platforms. The event concluded with a lively Podium Discussion featuring Tino Kreßner, the Co-Founder of Startnext, and Stefan Flinspach, the CEO of OneCrowd, who shared their experiences and insights into the evolving landscape of crowdfunding and -investing. The day ended on a high note with a delightful conference dinner, fostering further interaction and collaboration among attendees.
We are pleased to share a group photo of all speakers, proudly wearing TU Dresden basecaps—a small token of our appreciation for their valuable contributions to this year’s symposium. More impressions from the conference can be found at the end of this article.
We thank all the speakers and participants for their insightful contributions and active engagement. Special thanks to Impact Hub Dresden for providing an excellent venue for the conference.
