Project INTEVI with University Hospital Dresden started
At the beginning of March, a joint research project with the University Hospital of Dresden started as part of the eHealthSax funding programme for digitalisation projects in the healthcare sector. The aim is to develop an intelligent transfer management system for the data-driven recommendation of transfers of intensive care patients (INTEVI). Capacity bottlenecks in the provision of intensive care beds confront intensive care physicians with the decision of which patient can be transferred to a lower-level ward for treatment. Building on the results of the previous project prioICare, artificial intelligence methods are to help determine a classification of intensive care patients based on current and past clinical data with regard to their transferability.
The project kick-off on 6 March 2023 served to help the project partners get to know each other, to discuss the project plan and to define and allocate the topics to be worked on. In addition, medical and hospital-specific problems were addressed in a short group discussion, which underlined the necessity of incorporating medical expertise.
