Prof. Dr. Thomas Günther receives TU Dresden badge of honor
On June 23, 2003 the TU Dresden honorary senat member, the TU Dresden medal of honor and the TU Dresden badges of honor were awarded by the rectorate.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Günther, holder of the Chair of Business Administration, esp. Management Accounting and Control, was one of five award winners to receive a badge of honor. He was nominated for the award by his team.
Prof. Thomas Günther has been honored for his accomplishments surrounding the rehabilitation of the Faculty of Business and Economics after the fall of the Berlin Wall. His teaching portfolio comprises twelve modules belonging to undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Over the last 10 years, he has written around 40 high-quality research publications independently or as a co-author. His outstanding contributions to education and research, and especially his remarkably positive demeanor, make him a true inspiration in his professional environment and TU Dresden at large. He deserves special respect due to his neurodegenerative disease ALS, diagnosed in 2018, which at no time prevents him from maintaining and in parts even expanding his ambitious teaching and research program. With the help of working assistants he unwaveringly contributes to all issues of the faculty and the chair.
