Colloquium - Validität von Lerneffekten in ökonomischen Entscheidungssituationen
Abstract: In economic experiments the decisions of individuals are observed in an economic situation. In many studies so-called "irrational" behaviors were observed (example: punishment of unfair behavior). From other disciplines, behavior can usually be explained. Therefore, some scientists argue the concept of "irrational" behavior should be abandoned. In certain - often economic - contexts, these "irrational" behaviors are undesirable and strategies are developed to counteract this (example: thinking in sunken costs). This leads to the questions, is the "irrational" behavior modifiable on an individual level, which methods are suitable for influencing and what about validity of the results of studies that measure learning effects in relation to "irrational" behavior.
