MiHUBx - A digital ecosystem for research, diagnostics and therapy - Second funding period launched
The Research Group Digital Health has already worked for two years with the Data Integration Center at Dresden University Hospital, Chemnitz Hospital and University, Mitweida University of Applied Sciences, and other partners to bring data-centric health research from university medical centers to the broader community. In the MiHUBx project, the BMBF funds establishing and operating digital progress hubs. These hubs combine digital innovations from care with data integration and medical research tasks. The model solutions of the digital progress hubs show how regional data (outside university hospitals) can also be incorporated into health research, in particular, into the further development of treatments. In the project, the research group and partners are working on various issues regarding the design of the technical infrastructure, data and exchange formats, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Our work focuses on implementing a digital care pathway in the field of special oncological treatment, in which the interaction of registered doctors, special outpatient clinics, and patients is realized in an exemplary (data) technical way.
With the release of the second funding period and funding tranche, the BMBF confirms the positive development of our "MiHUBx Hub." For the implementation of this project, the Digital Health research group will receive approximately 400 TE in this tranche. In close cooperation with the Center for Medical Informatics, the faculty is thus making an essential contribution to strengthening our medical research landscape.
The project will run until the end of 2025 and will serve as a template for implementing regional advanced data structures.
