Research on the pulse of time
Our research is primarily concerned with questions of digital transformation in vocational training processes. In particular, this involves the recording and target group-appropriate promotion of AI-related competences of (prospective) vocational training personnel.
Our research focuses on
- Artificial intelligence in vocational education and training
- Modelling and assessment of AI-related competences
- Development, implementation and evaluation of digital teaching-learning environments
Research on the pulse of time
Current research topics that we are working on are questions relating to the digital transformation in vocational education and training contexts, which is being driven by developments in the field of artificial intelligence.
For example, we are looking at the question of which AI-related competences vocational training personnel need and to what extent these competence facets are developed. So far, we have primarily focussed on school education personnel. In the future, we also want to look at the specific needs and challenges in in-company initial and continuing vocational training. These studies are important because it is only on the basis of these findings that we will be able to develop (further) training programmes that are tailored to the target group.
In this context, we are also investigating questions relating to the acceptance of AI-supported systems and what measures can be used to promote this.
