Kraft-Copilot interviewed at the PartWiss conference
Interviewed at the PartWiss conference
At this year's PartWiss conference, the Kraft-Copilot project team presented selected parts of the exhibition “Invisible Heroes: Between Everyday Life and Care.” The exhibition focuses on young adults who, alongside their education, studies, or careers, take on caregiving responsibilities for close family members.
Alongside the presentation at the conference, an interview with eaf-sachsen took place, which was broadcast as part of the program „Wer kümmert sich? Pflegende Angehörige und Young Carers in Sachsen“. The program is part of the cross-media family magazine „Familienfragen“. The focus was on the situation of family caregivers in the Free State Saxony, where 363,000 people are considered to be in need of care. Over 310,000 of them are cared for at home in their familiar surroundings – made possible by the daily commitment of around 450,000 family caregivers.
The interview focused on the project work of Kraft-Copilot, the goals of the exhibition, and its significance for visibility and social awareness. The exhibition is based on the participatory research method Photovoice, which empowers those affected to act as experts of their own lived realities. Personal photographs and texts provide insights into their everyday lives, their challenges, and their sources of strength.
At the PartWiss conference, there was also an opportunity for professional exchange on how genuine participation on an equal footing can be achieved. The interview also emphasized the urgent need for action to close existing gaps in support for young caregivers. Projects like Kraft-Copilot play an important role in addressing these gaps and sustainably improving the situation of young family caregivers.
