Care has many faces: Photovoice exhibition at the COSMO Science Forum shows perspectives of young caring adults
Young people who care for relatives make an enormous contribution on a daily basis and are often overlooked. The exhibition "Invisible heroes - between everyday life and caregiven" now gives a voice to this previously invisible group. From August 18 to September 4, 2025 at the COSMO Science Forum Dresden, it will provide insights into the lives of young adult carers. While other people their age can concentrate on training, studying or growing up, young adult carers also bear the responsibility of caring for loved ones - usually without official recognition or help.
The exhibition was developed as part of the participatory research method Photovoice, which was used in the BMFTR-funded project "Kraft-Copilot" at the CODIP at TU Dresden. Four young people document the reality of their lives through self-taken photographs and accompanying texts. They talk about their challenges, but also their coping strategies and sources of strength. The exhibition invites you to get to know their stories - and to take experiences that are often overlooked by society seriously.
