ZIH: NHR Center NHR@TUD

The ZIH is one of nine sites for "National High Performance Computing" (NHR). The ZIH approach as NHR center with focus on data-driven high-performance computing and high-performance data analysis is based on the "HPC Data Analytics II" concept. Study and apprenticeship

The ZIH is involved in university teaching at the Faculty of Computer Science and in the field of systems biology. Research at ZIH

ZIH research focuses on the development of new methods for solving scientific and technical research questions across the entire spectrum of our tasks as an IT competence center at TU Dresden and beyond. Supporting our HPC users in optimizing their scientific applications is one of our central focal points.

For us as an interdisciplinary service provider, responsibility for the communication infrastructure and operation of the central IT infrastructure services and servers for TU Dresden also means supporting the faculties in carrying out their research and teaching tasks in all IT-relevant areas. Digitalization on campus is also part of this: after all, continuous modernization and consistent further development of standard IT services are crucial for TU Dresden's ability to work and its digital sovereignty.
Our extensive in-house research and development activities as well as national and international networking with scientific institutions and partners from industry and business are a crucial prerequisite.

The bundling of expertise and interdisciplinary cooperation makes us an important node in CIDS, which - in direct synergy with ScaDS.AI - is a leader in Germany in the further development of innovative methods in the fields of HPC, data analytics and AI.
