Forschung, Services und Transfer in der gesamten Breite an Digitalisierungsthemen
At CIDS, we take a broad view of digitalization and, within this spectrum, explore highly specialized, complex issues in the respective research and development areas. We conduct groundbreaking basic research across the entire field of digitalization and overlap with a variety of scientific disciplines. By directly linking research, services and transfer services in a close association of interdisciplinary, integrative departments, we bundle the strengths of TU Dresden in the field of digitalization.

Extensive portfolio in eight departments
With this structure, CIDS combines over 25 years of expertise in high-performance computing (ZIH), 20 years of benchmarking and digital innovation (CODIP), outstanding research in artificial intelligence and big data (ScaDS.AI), as well as in research data management (in projects such as DDTrust, Come2Data, and SaxFDM), and studies on transformative and systemic processes at the intersections of humans, technology, and society (DST, SynoSys). This creates an interdisciplinary network of excellence for digital sciences at TU Dresden.
Central units such as the Support Center for Digitalization (SCD) and the Interactive Science Lab (ISL) complement the CIDS departments through consulting, services, and formats for interactive and participatory research and science communication.
