The CIDS combines a comprehensive portfolio of competences in 8 departments such as:

• The department ZIH of TU Dresden with research and service experience since 2005 and more than 25 years of experience in high-performance computing 
• The department CODIP with 20 years of benchmarking in educational technologies and open digital innovation
• Innovative research approaches with a focus on transformative research and complex phenomena at the interfaces between biomedicine, social and life sciences in the departments Speculative Transformation and Synergy of Systems
• ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig as one of five national AI competence centers
• One of the nine national competence centers for high-performance computing (NHR@TUD)
• Strong expertise in the field of research data management with projects such as DDTrust, Come2Data and SaxFDM
