New joint project K.I.S.S.: Innovative solutions for dismantling and approval management
On May 1, 2024, the joint project K.I.S.S. was launched, which aims to change knowledge and project management in the dismantling and approval management of nuclear facilities over 36 months. By developing networked and digital platforms, the aim is to adapt process management practically. K.I.S.S. aims to qualify specialists and develop digital solutions using artificial intelligence (AI) for integrated organizational management and sustainable dismantling strategies. The project is divided into three modules: The hybrid and innovative learning platform, the digital platform for approval projects and AI-supported process management for deconstruction. The individual modules aim to promote knowledge transfer, enable audit-proof transmission and transparent communication in approval procedures and optimize data analysis and repository documentation.
The focus is on cooperation with international partners and the synergy of the technologies used, while operators, expert organizations, authorities and industry benefit from the innovative solutions. Access to modern technologies and efficient tools enables improved process design and service expansion.
Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the project places particular emphasis on involving and promoting the younger generation through summer schools, conferences and active participation in research projects.
