Seniors' Academy discussion group: Focus on digitalization in Germany
On 11 June 2024, the German Seniors' Academy (DSA) will host a discussion group on "How is Germany progressing with digitalization? Observations from the perspective of educational science". Prof. Dr. Thomas Köhler, Director of the CODIP (Center for Open Digital Innovation and Participation), is expected to be a guest speaker.
For many years, the DSA has been committed to promoting communication skills, judgment, media literacy and European competence, especially among older citizens. With its motto "Knowledge builds bridges", the academy offers a wide range of events that support the exchange between older and younger generations and counteract loneliness.
The monthly discussion group "Economy and Society" serves as a platform for an open exchange of views on current economic policy and economic theory topics. The event is moderated by Dr. rer. oec. habil. Jürgen Leibiger.
In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Thomas Köhler will discuss the progress and challenges of digitalization in Germany, especially from the perspective of educational science. The number of participants is limited to 20 in order to allow for an intensive and personal discussion. The event is designed in such a way that no prior knowledge is required.
The CODIP itself already has research groups and projects dealing with health and ageing. For example, the BMBF-funded "ZukunfTAlter" project is cooperating with partners from business, science, society and local politics to develop innovative future technologies for ageing in rural areas.
