BMBF Cluster for Future smart4life in the Conceptual Phase

The Cluster for Future Smart Materials and Electronics for Life (smart4life) assembles the research partners and enterprises of the innovation-region Dresden. It facilitates disruptive developments at the border between electronics and medicine. Our adaptive medical technology of the future allows for personalized implants, in-vivo monitoring of wound-healing and targeted drug delivery. These novel technologies will be scalable and suitable for low-cost production.
Flexible and resorbable electronics facilitate novel bio-compatible applications at and inside the human body. They will be developed in an application-oriented and interdisciplinary environment created within a unique innovation network of scientist, medical engineering companies and clinic researchers.
In this way, the inventions of today will turn into innovative technologies that save life and protect jobs tomorrow.
