Informal Language Practice and Tutorials
Language Café 📍Tandem 📍 Language Lab📍FIT:ING Tutorials
Do you want to meet people who speak the language you are learning, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere? Take advantage of our informal activities.
The Language Cafés take place every Thursday 6.30 pm during the semester. We alternate between Romance languages, Slavic languages, and Chinese and Japanese. There is a German conversation table every week. Native-speaker tutors get you talking on everyday topics with communicative and playful activities.
More information and the registration for the Language Café.
In the Language Tandem, the native language of one is the foreign language of the other. The MSZ arranges tandem learning partnerships during lecture periods. During a first meeting at the MSZ, the tandem partners get to know each other and receive advice from our tutors with guidance and tips for effective language learning. All information and the form to search for a suitable tandem partner are available HERE.
The German Language Lab is a peer-to-peer support service for international students in STEM subjects. Every Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, students help with language challenges in everyday university life and with preparing for your career: hands-on, interactive and in a relaxed atmosphere. You are welcome to bring your own questions and topics.

The FIT:ING STEM Language Tutorials are for students of the natural sciences and engineering, as well as construction and environmental fields, who want to express themselves better and more confidently in German in their subject area. Using case studies and sample projects from different subjects, you practise subject-specific vocabulary and learn how to explain, discuss and present questions and solution approaches. The tutorials take place during the semester and as an intensive course during the semester break. Participants can receive a certificate. Information on the current programme
