Day of the Faculty

On 15.11.2024, around 300 invited guests celebrated the Day of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Schönfeld lecture hall. Among them were graduates of the faculty and their families, professors and Research Associates, emeriti, sponsors and the FSR ET. More than 80 graduates were bid farewell and 14 doctoral candidates were congratulated on completing their dissertations. One habilitation was also celebrated. Furthermore, prizes worth a total of 9500 euros were awarded. The program was accompanied by music from the Schooko Duo. Afterwards, the guests were able to round off the evening with a buffet and music.
The Hermann Willkomm Prize 2024 for the best Information Systems Engineering thesis went to Mahmoud Hatem Elnashar. This year's Highvolt Prize for the best thesis in the field of electrical energy technology was awarded to Erik Ole Matthes. This year's Johannes Görges Prize for the faculty's best thesis goes to Maximilian Froitzheim. The Friends and Sponsors of the Faculty of E&I e.V. award goes to Denise Gruner and Robert Fischbach. The Barkhausen Prize of the Carl Friedrich von Siemens Foundation for the best dissertation goes this year to Stefan Rothe and Sebastian Maxim Germer.
