Erasmus+ Call 2027: Restrictions on participation in “Capacity Building in Higher Education”
The final Erasmus+ call (KA2) for the current funding period (2021–2027) is expected to be published in mid-November 2026. Due to the sharp increase in the number of applications in recent years, stricter restrictions on participation in applications are expected for the final call.
Inthe “Capacity Building in Higher Education”programarea, it appears that in the final call, each organization will be limited to participating in a total of only 2 proposals, regardless of whether it acts as a coordinator or a partner. Should this restriction be confirmed in the 2027 call, it will necessitate an internal preselection process at TUD. The goal is to ensure a transparent, fair, and strategically sound selection process while avoiding unnecessary workload for projects that ultimately cannot be submitted.
The exact details of the restriction will not be finalized until the 2027 call is published, which is expected in mid-November 2026. However, due to the extremely tight timeline leading up to the application deadline in early February 2027, the TUD’s internal procedure is being announced now:
- TUD members planning to participate in a project proposal—whether as a coordinator or a partner—are asked to submit a brief outline of the project idea to the EPC by Friday, November 20, at 4:00 p.m. (). The corresponding template, including the required point scores, is available for password-protected download here .
- All submitted brief outlines will then undergo an internal review by the EPC’s Erasmus+ team via an expedited process. Concurrently, an assessment of the outlines’ compliance with export control regulations will be conducted. The review results will be compiled for a decision at the university management level. All interested parties will be notified by mid-December 2026 whether their project has been selected for further development and submission.
The EPC will provide comprehensive support for the selected projects during their further development and the preparation of formal applications.
