Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) Directive “Integration through education” - Call for applications has been published
With the ESF Plus program “Integration through education,” the Federal Ministry of Education and Research promotes equality of opportunity in education for everyone, irrespective of their social status and migration status. Special focus is placed on women and girls with a migration and/or refugee background.
The program delineates between two funding initiatives, one that focuses on special education for woman and girls with a migration background, and another that focuses on how staff can make teaching more inclusive in the education system.
Both individual as well as joint projects that have a maximum duration of three years are eligible for funding.
Funding will be provided to establish tandems of researchers and practitioners, in which relevant stakeholders from the business world are involved in the research process and secondly, transfer measures are developed in collaboration with these stakeholders, such as the pilot testing of participative approaches to teaching. In line with the two funding initiatives, the funding will be primarily geared towards women and girls with a migration background or stakeholders in the education system.
The aim is to transfer the research results into practice and to provide an outlook for the period after the funding.
The following expenses are eligible for funding:
- staff costs;
- contracts with third parties;
- costs for open access publications;
- publication costs for the involvement of the public/society;
- domestic travel costs;
Up to 100 % of the eligible expenses can be funded. In addition, there is a lump sum amounting to 20 % of the planned expenses for each project.
The project should start on either May 1st or June 1st, 2024.
An information event will take place on June 1st, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm (via Webex) about the ESF Plus program Integration through Education.
