Invitation to the online event "Between facts and fakes: skills for a critical approach to the media" on May 12, 2026
|
Democratic participation is one of the four horizontal priorities in the Erasmus+ program. But what does this priority mean in practice in educational institutions and projects? With the new online event series "Democratic participation in focus", the German National Agencies address this question and show how the priority "Participation in democratic life" can be anchored in everyday working life in a variety of ways - from the organization of mobilities to the supervision of participants and the development of project content. The event series starts on May 12, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with the online event "Between facts and fakes: skills for a critical approach to media". The focus is on a central challenge of our time: dealing with disinformation and fake news. These influence social debates, distort public perceptions and can weaken trust in democratic institutions. Together with educational stakeholders from all sectors, we would like to reflect on the role that education plays in strengthening democratic skills. The event marks the start of a joint online event series of the German National Agencies, which invites participants to reflect on democratic participation as a cross-cutting issue and to make its personal and institutional relevance visible. Further information and the possibility to register can be found on the event page of the NA DAAD. |
