The European Research Network Materials Science and Materials Technologies (M-era.Net II, https://www.m-era.net/ ) has published its Call 2019, in which the Saxon State Ministry for Science and the Arts (SMWK) participates as a funding organization. The SMWK funds successful projects of Saxon universities and research institutions with a total budget of EUR 1.5 million via the EuProNet directive.

Scientists from Saxon universities and research institutions are invited to submit their applications to the Call Office by June 18, 2019 under https://m-era.net/submission/submission/call-2019. . It is a two-stage funding procedure.

Successful projects are supposed to start at the beginning of 2020.

The SMWK supports projects in the following thematic areas:

• Modeling for materials engineering and processing
• Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces
• High performance composites
• Functional materials
• New strategies for advanced material-based technologies in health applications
• Materials for additive manufacturing
