Cooperation programme SN-CZ: Successful start for TU Dresden into new funding period
During the new funding period one says at TU Dresden (TUD) again „Ahoj sousede. Hallo Nachbar.“.
Within the framework of the cooperation programme Free State of Saxony – Czech Republic 2014-2020, first cross-border projects have been approved by the monitoring committee of the programme. Among these confirmed projects, four projects are with TUD participation, two of those as coordinating partner.
Projects with TUD participation will be funded with a total of 4.2 million euros from the European Funds for Regional Development (EFRD). About 1.5 million euros of the total budget is allocated to TU Dresden partners.
The Chair of Didactics of Vocational Education (Prof. Dr. paed. habil. Hanno Hortsch), the Chair of Building Physics (Prof. Dr.-Ing. John Grunewald), the Research Association Public Health Saxony at the Faculty of Medicine (Prof. Dr. med. Joachim Fauler) as well as the Chair of Environmental Biotechnology at the International Graduate School (IHI) Zittau (Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Martin Hofrichter) are involved.
In the next three years a cross-border teaching network in the field of plastics engineering shall be developed, a competence partnership in the field of building research shall be established, the complaints about odours in Erzgebirge and Ústí area shall be observed and the environmental education and cooperation of both regions Liberec and Zittau shall be enriched by research of headwaters.
Further project ideas are currently under evaluation and will be presented at the next monitoring committee meetings.
