Call for applications for the ESF PLUS junior research groups at TUD
On July 4th, 2023, the ERDF/JTF funding guideline Energy and Climate - FRL EuK/2023 was published in the Saxon Official Gazette as the continuation of the previous guideline Sustainable Energy Supply - RL Energie/2014. A total of 242.8 million Euros in funding can be used up to the end of 2028 to address the energy transition issues, climate protection and climate adaptation in the Free State of Saxony.
Four modules are currently being funded as part of the guideline:
- Application-oriented energy and climate research
- Energy efficiency and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
- Enhancing efforts to adapt to the consequences of climate change
- Sustainable energy supply
Universities as well as extramural non-profit research institutions in the Free State of Saxony and the Berufsakademie Sachsen (Saxony University of Cooperative Education) are eligible to apply for funding in the module Application-oriented Energy and Climate Research. Funding is provided for application-oriented and preferably application-related, pre-competitive research projects with a thematic focus in particular on energy efficiency technologies as well as renewable energy technologies, climate adaptation and circular economy.
Funding for institutions of higher education, extramural non-profit research institutions in the Free State of Saxony, and the Berufsakademie Sachen amounts to 100 percent of the eligible costs/expenses.
The EPC monitors TU Dresden's projects in accordance with the Notification of the Vice-Rector Research 2/2023 and is therefore to be involved in the preparation of the appli-cation at an early stage with regard to calculations and to ensure compliance with the funding regulations. The digital application will be submitted in two steps, starting with the submission of a project idea/project outline via the SAB funding portal, which for TU Dresden will be done via the EPC.
