MSCA pilot call "Choose Europe for Science 2025" launched
On October 1, 2025, the European Commission published the new MSCA call "Choose Europe for Science 2025". The aim is to make research careers in Europe more attractive - with excellent working conditions and long-term prospects.
The most important facts at a glance:
- Start of the call: October 1, 2025
- Deadline: December 3, 2025, 17:00 CET
- All scientific disciplines are eligible for funding
- Call budget: € 22.5 million
- Max. Funding amount per project: € 3.5 million
- Applicants: Individual organizations from EU member states or associated countries
- Target group: At least 3 postdocs per project should be planned
- Duration: Up to 5 years
- 2-3 years EU-funded
- 2 years of mandatory continued employment (self-financing) by the institution
Special features of the call for proposals
- Long-term perspective: Institutions must commit to the continued employment of researchers beyond EU funding
- Quality standards: compliance with MSCA best practices in recruitment, training and working conditions (e.g. MSCA Mobility rule)
