New Transnational Call of the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership Published
The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP) has launched its third transnational call for proposals “Digitalisation and Innovation for Resilient Marine Ecosystems Businesses, and Communities to Strengthen the EU Blue Economy’s Competitiveness“. The Partnership aims to strengthen research and innovation for the sustainable use of marine and aquatic resources. The current call addresses major challenges in the field of the “Blue Economy” and supports the transition towards climate-neutral, resilient, and inclusive marine and water systems.
Call Priority Areas
The call is structured around five priority areas:
1. Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTOs) at sub-basin scale
2. Transitioning blue economy sectors & marine multi-use infrastructures
3. Climate-smart planning and managing sea-uses at regional level
4. Blue bioresources (e.g. sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, bio-based products) (not funded by Germany)
5. Resilient coastal communities and businesses
Funding will be provided for international collaborative projects. The submission process follows a two-step procedure (pre-proposals and full proposals).
Stakeholder engagement as partners or self-funded partners is encouraged (according to national/regional regulations) to enhance innovation, policy, and societal relevance and ultimately the impact of the projects.
Timeline and eligibility criteria:
- 17.11.2025 – pre-proposal submission
- 17.06.2026 – full-proposal submission
- Proposals must involve partners from at least three participating countries (2 from HORIZON EUROPE associated countries)
- Project duration: up to 36 months
- Max. 250,000 EUR funding per German partner
