PhD Funding Programs of the Graduate Academy / TU Dresden
The Graduate Academy / TU Dresden offers various funding programs to support the different phases of the PhD.
- Saxon Scholarship Program
The Free State of Saxony provides funding for the promotion of PhD students of TU Dresden for up to three years. The grant amounts to EUR 1,350 per month plus family allowance of EUR 100 for each dependent child (if applicable), as well as material/travel subsidy up to EUR 1,500.
Eligibility: Prospective doctoral candidates
Application deadline: March 31st - Maria Reiche Doctoral Fellowships (without Faculty of Medicine)
Within the Maria Reiche Doctoral Fellowships (without Faculty of Medicine), grants up to three years can be awarded for women working on their doctoral degree. The monthly rate amounts to EUR 1,365. In addition, a monthly family allowance of EUR 400 for the first child and EUR 100 for each further child will be awarded.

Application deadline: March 31st - ESF Plus - PhD Scholarship Program
The Free State of Saxony (SMWK) and the SAB provide funding for the promotion of PhD students of TU Dresden for up to four years. The grant amounts to EUR 1,700 per month plus family allowance of EUR 100 for each dependent child.

- Grants for the Completion and Wrap-up Phase
These grants support doctoral candidates for up to three months during the completion and wrap-up phase of their doctorate. The bridging period enables researchers to finish their PhD, but also to publish their results and to prepare an application for a postdoctoral position. The monthly grant for PhD students amounts to EUR 1,365 and for postdoc students to EUR 1,750 plus a non-personnel cost subsidy as well as a family allowance, if the latter is applicable.
Eligibility: Doctoral candidates in the final phase of their doctorate

Back-to-Research Grants
The Free State of Saxony provides funding for the completion of the doctorate of researchers after an interruption due to family affairs for up to 12 months. The monthly stipend amounts to EUR 985 for PhD students and, if applicable, an additional family allowance of EUR 100 per child.
Eligibility: Doctoral candidates
Application deadlines: March 31st and September 30th
This grant aims to support the visibility of the research achievements of doctoral candidates and postdocs. For this purpose, the Graduate Academy of TU Dresden grants allowances for proofreading services (German or English) for foreign-language publications of doctoral candidates of TU Dresden.
