Education for Sustainable Development: The SMK Visits the BildungsAcker
Ackercoachin und Dozentin Heidelinde Wutzler (rechts) mit Student:innen auf dem BildungsAcker
The BildungsAcker has been in operation at the TUD Botanical Garden since 2022. Here, TUD student teachers have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and prepare for working with their future students in the school garden.
The Saxon State Ministry of Culture (SMK) recently visited the BildungsAcker and received an explanation from Acker coach and lecturer Heidelinde Wutzler and Prof. Nicole Raschke (Chair of Geographic Education) on how teacher training works at the BildungsAcker. The result is a detailed and beautifully illustrated post on the SMK blog, as well as two videos.
In addition to Prof. Raschke, Prof. Jana Markert (Chair of Nutrition and Home Economics / Vocational Didactics) is also one of the project’s initiators. Other participants include Dr. Simone Reutemann (Chair of Geographic Education) and Dr. Veruska Prado Alexandre Weiß (Chair of Nutrition and Home Economics / Vocational Pedagogy).
Further information and videos about the project are available on the website of the Chair of Geographic Education.
