The World in view - The Bundesnachrichtendienst presents itself!
The world in view - The Federal Intelligence Service presents itself!
On May 16, 2023, the Federal Intelligence Service (Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND) will present itself with its diverse fields of activity and entry opportunities after graduation. This will provide an exciting insight behind the scenes of the intelligence service.
What is the BND's task?
As the intelligence service of the Federal Government, the BND is responsible for civil and military reconnaissance abroad. The BND sees itself as a service provider for the federal government: it provides political decision-makers with information and situation reports that serve as a basis for their actions. In times of crisis, rapid and reliable information is usually crucial in order to be able to react appropriately and immediately. By providing information at an early stage, the service contributes to crisis prevention.
Security is very multifaceted. That is why the BND's intelligence priorities are also broad: from cyber attacks, international terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction to the observation of specific crisis regions, BND experts work to gather relevant intelligence as comprehensively as possible.
Who works at the BND?
The approximately 6,500 BND employees carry a high degree of responsibility in nearly 400 different jobs in Germany and around the world.
