Through the Philipp Schwartz Initiative, TUD supports researchers at risk
With the Philipp Schwartz Initiative (PSI), TUD Dresden University of Technology supports researchers at risk. The PSI is a funding program for researchers who can no longer work safely in their home countries due to conflict, persecution, or other risks.
Are you in contact with scientists at risk from Iran, Sudan, Afghanistan, or other countries? If these researchers with doctoral degrees are a good fit for the research profile of your institute and you can are willing to provide academic supervision, you can apply to TUD for a 24-month grant together with the potential fellow. The PSI team will assist you in compiling all necessary documents and submit all applications collectively to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
The PSI holds special significance at TUD. We have been participating in the PSI for ten years and have already sponsored 22 international researchers for up to three years. The funding program also reflects our values of cosmopolitanism, diversity and academic freedom. By supporting this initiative, we aim to help strengthen the scientific community globally and to offer talented individuals a future in research. At the same time, our university benefits from the expertise and experience of international scientists.
The next call for applications for the PSI will be issued in June. If you do not personally know any at-risk scientists, you can search the Scholars at Risk website(www.scholarsatrisk.org/actions/host-a-scholar) for researchers seeking a safe academic home. Further information is available on the PSI intranet page(https://intranet.tu-dresden.de/x/iQQ5H). If you are interested in the PSI, please feel free to contact us as soon as possible.
