TUDiSC, das Disruption and Societal Change Center der TU Dresden, eröffnet seine zweite Verbundtagung mit einem öffentlichen Gastvortrag von Julia Wittmayer. Ihr Vortrag Disruption and Agency from a Sustainability Transition Perspective bildet den Auftakt der Tagung unter dem Motto "Systems of Agency in Face of Disruption". 

Julia Wittmayer ist Anthropologin und promovierte Sozialwissenschaftlerin. Aktuell ist sie an der Erasmus Universität Rotterdam am Institut für Transitionsforschung DRIFT als Assistenzprofessorin und leitende Wissenschaftlerin tätig. Entsprechend liegt der Fokus ihrer Forschung auf Nachhaltigkeit und den damit verbundenen Transformationsprozessen. Ihr Interesse gilt dabei insbesondere den folgenden Themen:

• soziale Innovationen als Veränderungen der sozialen Beziehungen und des gesellschaftlichen Gefüges;
• die Rolle von Werten und Narrativen bei nachhaltigen Transformationen;
• Steuerung von Nachhaltigkeitstransformationen;
• und die Rolle der Forschung und des transdisziplinären Engagements bei (der Steuerung von) Nachhaltigkeitstransformationen

Abstract: Disruption and Agency from a Sustainability Transition Perspective

With the conference focusing on ‘disruption – agency – transformation’, this keynote will take one of these concepts as an entry point to reflect on the other two. From a sustainability transitions perspective, we will discuss the space for disruption and agency for addressing the current environmental and social crisis. We specifically take a closer look at different forms of agency in sustainability transitions and how these are reinvented and transformed through social innovations. We will also consider the close interlinkages between innovation, disruption and system reproduction in attempts of actors to influence transition dynamics and end with a reflection on the agency of research(ers) in and for sustainability transitions.

Interessierte sind herzlich zum Vortrag am 12.10. ab 18:00 Uhr im Heinz-Schönfeld-Hörsaal eingeladen. Vortragssprache ist Englisch. Im Anschluss wird während eines Empfangs die Möglichkeit zum Austausch sein.
