International Weeks against Racism
The state capital Dresden is participating in the International Weeks against Racism from 11 March to 06 April 2019.
The nationwide action weeks are a sign of solidarity with the victims and opponents of racism. They aim to inform and raise awareness about racist discrimination and exclusion in various areas of society. They encourage self-reflection and personal action in order to create the conditions for respectful, humane cooperation and to banish racism, xenophobia and exclusion from our everyday lives.
The event weeks bring together all the actors who are committed in many different ways to filling this year's motto of the Foundation for the International Weeks against Racism "Europe chooses human dignity" with life. This takes on particular importance against the backdrop of a constantly changing society and the European elections coming up this year.
As part of the International Weeks against Racism, a reading with Max Czollek will take place at the Dresden Central Library on 03 April 2019. The author will read from his new book "Desintegriert euch" and discuss it with the plenum. The Centre for Integration Studies at the TU Dresden is organising this reading together with the Dresden Municipal Libraries and Hatikva e.V. and is looking forward to an exciting, insightful evening.
