Workshop at the end of the research project „Kunst und Kultur in der polarisierten Stadt" (KupoS)
The research project „Kunst und Kultur in der polarisierten Stadt. Dresdner Kultureinrichtungen als Vermittelnde zwischen den Polen 'Weltoffenheit' und 'Ethnopluralismus' (KupoS)“ under the direction of Prof. Dr. Heike Greschke is nearing its conclusion. On this occasion, we invite cultural representatives in Dresden and the region to a workshop.
The workshop will discuss the results of the project, which last year dealt with polarisation dynamics in the artistic and cultural field. In addition to taking stock of cultural events in the Dresden area between 2014 and 2017, the project also looked at newly emerging network structures and carried out a discourse and positioning analysis of the exhibition „Rassismus – die Erfindung von Menschenrassen“ at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden.
However, the workshop is not only intended to present the results. Rather, it is intended to give space to the experiences of cultural representatives in Dresden and the region. The findings of the study will be made available in order to reflect on problematic issues of polarisation and mediation from the perspective of cultural representatives and to discuss possible solutions.
In the best case, this will result in new, fruitful perspectives that will enable a better understanding of the role and function of cultural institutions in Dresden, the "debate capital".
Registration is possible until 08 May 2019. Places are limited.
Further information on the workshop including registration modalities can be found here.
