SEE! - Event as part of the cultural programme of #courage2018
73 years after the world's first atomic bomb drop at the Japanese city Hiroshima, this evening young researchers from all over the world will show up on the Palaissommer stage on the occasion of the anniversary of a world's shock talk about their experiences of and wishes for peace. The group uses their international peace slams to bring up topics like tolerance, prejudices and co-existance on intercultural stages and in school assemblies. In times serious, in times entertaining, but always looking over the rim of their own migration teacup. They ask for the meaning of peace and give very personal answers themselves. In 10 minute inputs they wrap up big topics quite handy: cross-generational guilt, social pressure on single women in China, childlike feeling of happiness in times of war, culture shock in Germany, friendship with an enemy of the state, the role of media for our own prejudices and so on. The repertory grows with the number of slammer. It's not poetry slam, not science or comedy slam. We do #peaceslam.
The event is partly in English and partly in German and supported by presentations. Admission is free.
