Was zu tun ist 2Für ein gerechtes Europa
Was können wir tun, um Europa mitzugestalten? Wir, das sind die Menschen, für die Europa mehr ist als die Europäische Union, mehr als reiner Finanzmarkt oder Währungsunion. Wir sind die, für die es längst ein Europa des Alltags gibt, in dem wir freizügig reisen und arbeiten können, in dem es grenzüberschreitende Nachbar-, Freund- und Liebschaften gibt. Wir glauben daran, dass die EU verbessert werden muss, um eine europäische Zukunft zu sichern. Die europäische Einigung ist für uns ein politisches und demokratisches Gemeinschaftsprojekt. Die Politikwissenschaftlerin und Publizistin Ulrike Guérot schaut in die Zukunft und gibt einen Impuls für eine längst überfällige Fortentwicklung der EU, die alle Bürger*innen stärker beteiligt.
Im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe WAS ZU TUN IST sprechen wir am 5. Februar 2020 ab 19 Uhr in Dresden (Kleines Haus, KH3, Glacisstraße 28) mit Prof. Ulrike Guérot über ein gerechteres Europa.
Prof. Dr. Ulrike Guérot ist Professorin und Leiterin des Department für Europapolitik und Demokratieforschung an der Donau-Universität Krems. Sie gründete 2014 das European Democracy Lab, ein Think Tank der sich mit der Zukunft europäischer Demokratie befasst. Neben ihrer Arbeit und Lehre an Universitäten in Europa und den USA hat Ulrike Guérot an mehreren europäischen Forschungsinstituten und Think Tanks gearbeitet und diese geleitet. Zu ihren Publikationen zählen unter anderem „Warum Europa eine Republik werden muss - Eine politische Utopie“ (2017) und „Wie hältst du's mit Europa?“ (2019).
Die Reihe WAS ZU TUN IST ist eine Kooperation zwischen den Professuren für Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte und der für Didaktik der politischen Bildung an der TU Dresden, dem Zentrum für Integrationsstudien der TU Dresden, dem Staatsschauspiel und Weiterdenken – Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Sachsen. Studierende können sich die Veranstaltung durch einen Teilnahmeschein und eine Klausur für das Aqua-Modul anrechnen lassen.
