News from the InnoVET-Kfz project
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our cooperating vocational school centers for the warm welcome and great support for our survey series. So far, around 80 3rd and 4th year automotive mechatronics trainees from the "Gustav Anton Zeuner" technical college in Dresden and BSZ 1 in Zschopau have already taken part in our survey; by the end of the year, up to 240 more trainees are expected to take part, including from the vocational school centers in Pirna, Radeberg, Chemnitz, Meißen and Erfurt. As part of the surveys, the trainees will learn a structured procedure for processing complex vehicle troubleshooting within a computer simulation.
What is the aim of this series of surveys? We will use the data obtained to optimize the digital learning path. We will then make the digital learning route available to schools and inter-company training centers as well as trainees free of charge for learning and practicing.
The trainees also see the digital learning route as a great learning opportunity. "Now I finally have a procedure in my head on how to approach troubleshooting," commented one apprentice, for example. An advantage for the trainees is the risk-free use of the software, which creates a good digital practice opportunity, as it is not necessary to work directly on the customer's vehicle and therefore no damage can be caused. The simulation is therefore a great way to enrich practical lessons.
