Excursion to the educational landscape of Bautzen

On 13.03.2024, an excursion to Bautzen took place in cooperation with the Perspektive Land program. 9 student teachers from various types of schools and subjects visited the Schiller-Gymnasium Bautzen and the industrial site V.D. Ledermann & Co. GmbH Bautzen/edding branch together with employees from the vocational Department of Chemical Engineering and a representative from Perspektive Land.

The excursion focused on the exchange between educational stakeholders from schools, universities and companies as extracurricular, regional places of learning. The students first had the opportunity to talk to representatives of Schiller-Gymnasium about internships and career prospects as well as the special requirements of the teaching profession in the region and to get to know the school, including the numerous educational opportunities and various opportunities for teachers to get involved.

The group then visited the industrial site of V.D. Ledermann & Co. GmbH's Bautzen/edding branch in Bautzen together with a teacher from Schiller-Gymnasium. During a guided tour lasting several hours, the participants were given an insight into the history of the company, the very diverse edding product range manufactured at the site and the production of various writing products during ongoing operations.
