Integrate You: Integrating young women in male-dominated professions
Integrate You: Integrating young women in male-dominated professions is a project to promote (young) women in male-dominated apprenticeships and professions. To this end, the project examines different types of access barriers to such professions with the idea of sensitizing employers to these mostly invisible barriers and breaking them down.
Under the leadership of SFIVET, the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training, successful practical examples from vocational training are being identified and examined. In the project, we work primarily with focus group interviews with teachers and trainers as well as interviews with representatives from companies and industry organizations. On this basis, examples of good practice are identified and examined in practical workshops for their feasibility and transferability. Finally, recommendations for action in education and labor market policy will be brought together in a practical guide. At the same time, a cross-border network of stakeholders from education, science and business will be established to support the exchange and anchoring of the project results.
The aim of Integrate You is to contribute to securing skilled workers, reducing gender-specific income gaps and promoting equal opportunities. The binational exchange between Switzerland and Germany makes the different strengths of the respective vocational training systems visible and usable.
