Dresden Science Night on 26.06.2026 - From the lab to the classroom
Farbige Flüssigkeiten in Erlenmeyerkolben und Reagenzgläsern
From the lab to the classroom: hands-on nutrition education
When and Where?
26.06.26 / 5 - 8 p.m. / Room: MS1 161/162
What?
You can get hands-on in the nutritional science laboratory: Test the vitamin C content of various foods or examine the pH value of sourdough. You will experience at first hand how findings from chemistry, biochemistry and nutritional science become understandable and tangible. Then it's off to the teaching and test kitchen: here you can experience the transfer into practice, for example by means of sensory tests.
Behind all this is the work in the area of teacher training in the subject of Business, Technology and Home Economics/Social Sciences (WTH/S) and in the vocational Department of Food, Nutrition and Home Economics (LEH). Here we work on preparing complex content in such a way that it can be taught in an understandable, exciting and realistic way.
Whether you are a curious explorer, an amateur chef or a prospective student: come along, try it out and discover how science finds its way into the classroom with us.
