Implementation of training in accordance with the Nursing Professions Act at vocational colleges in Saxony
Project description
Since 01.01.2020, the nursing training courses for geriatric care, healthcare and nursing as well as healthcare and pediatric nursing, which are regulated separately in the Geriatric Care and Nursing Act, have been merged into a new Nursing Professions Act. As a result of this change, school management and teaching staff are facing new challenges in addition to the practice facilities.
Objectives of the project
The aim of the project to implement the new training in accordance with the Nursing Professions Act is to accompany the associated curricular development work and the creation of intermediate and final examinations at the schools against the background of nursing, social, vocational education and nursing didactic requirements. The planned project duration extends from September 2021 to 31.10.2024.
- Establishment and maintenance of a network (Saxony - IPfleB-BFS project) for the close exchange and support of vocational schools
- Determination of monitoring, support and training needs
- (Further) development of internal school curricula, implementation of the design principles of the Saxon curriculum in educational practice

Designing suitable support formats and striving for a participatory process with teachers to implement generalized nursing training
- (Further) development of internal school curricula
- Support and guidance in the creation of competence-oriented intermediate examinations in the vocational schools and final examinations in the task creation committees.

Revision of intermediate and final examinations
The project is funded by the Saxon State Ministry of Culture (SMK). It takes place in cooperation with the State Office for Schools and Education (LaSuB) and the State Directorate of Saxony (LDS).
