Information for prospective students
Would you like to become a teacher for nursing and healthcare professions or teach health and social work at a vocational grammar school?
Then you've come to the right place with the Vocational Teaching Program in Health and Nursing at TU Dresden!
Corresponding degree programs in Germany have very different names - which is sometimes incomprehensible for applicants. Whether the degree programs are called Nursing Education, Medical Education or Vocational Education for Health Professions usually has to do with the type of university offering the program. Our degree program at the TUD Dresden University of Technology is a regular teacher training course, which also allows you to start your traineeship.
We cordially invite anyone who is interested in teaching health or nursing-related subjects to study with us!
This graphic shows the various previous experiences and requirements you can start your studies with us.
1. you can start your studies directly after graduating from a (vocational) grammar school. the 12-month work placement you have to complete during your studies should give you an insight into the professional practice of the nursing and healthcare professions. Internships may be credited so that the time of the internship is shortened.
2. you can start your studies after you have completed vocational training in the health or nursing professions. In this case, the work placement and possibly other achievements can be credited to you.
3. you have already studied another subject and now decide to change. Your academic achievements may be recognized.
4. it may also be possible to study without an Abitur. If you have any questions about this, please contact our academic advisor Martin Fritzenwanker.
