Module 2 - Production engineering and elementary technical issues (EW-SEGS-D-WER-2)
The module covers materials, tools and various technical issues (e.g. gears, electrics, technical consumer goods). In conjunction with compliance with occupational safety regulations, typical handling of materials and technical equipment is tested and reflected upon.
On completion of the module, students will have a working knowledge of special hand tools, materials and manual processing machines. They have theoretical knowledge of basic manufacturing processes. They have elementary practical skills in special techniques of material processing and further processing. They select target and process-oriented working techniques and tools to solve specific problems and use them appropriately. They have the skills and abilities to disassemble, reassemble, maintain and repair technical products. They have basic knowledge of the effect of electrical current and of the key principles of electrical engineering and mechanics for enabling and optimizing movement. Students are able to observe relevant safety regulations and rules for accident prevention and occupational safety when handling tools, equipment and teaching media. They are able to select and present relevant specialist content appropriately.
The module consists of three exercises:
Production Engineering1 (EW-SEGS-D-WER-2(1)) in the summer semester,
Production Engineering2 (EW-SEGS-D-WER-2(2)) in the winter semester and
Elementary technical issues (EW-SEGS-D-WER-2(3)) again in the summer semester.
