New publication: Medialization of childhood under National Socialism
What image of childhood underlies the order of knowledge in the primers of National Socialism? Kristin Straube-Heinze and Carsten Heinze analyse the ideological adaptation of the reform pedagogical myth of childhood and illustrate the function of the medialization of childhood for "völkische Erziehung". By pedagogizing the normative patterns of belonging, the subjectivation process of children learning to read was to be oriented towards the "national community". The dispositive-analytical reconstruction of the knowledge regime documented in the primers provides comprehensive insights into the performative practices of indoctrination.
