Long Night of Workshops at the Institute of Educational Science
100 Years of Elementary School - Explore, Discover, Create
The Primary School Working Group opened the doors to the Long Night of Workshops at the Institute of Educational Science (Weberplatz 5) on June 21, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Complementing the lecture series "100 Years of Elementary School in Germany - One School for All?", guests of all ages were welcome to explore, discover, and create historical and current information about elementary school at various stations. The event was jointly prepared by the research assistants of the professorships of elementary school pedagogy, research assistants, student assistants and students in cooperation with the School Museum.
At 4 p.m. the choir "Die Tonkneter" opened the actions in the workshops.
Picture book cinema readings were held in the Primary Education Research Lab "LuFo" (Web 47), inviting students to immerse themselves in literary school experiences.
Next door (Web 44) was the starting point for the "Weberbau Math Rally". This digitally guided math puzzle treasure hunt across the grounds around the Weberbau allowed the Faculty of Education to be explored from different perspectives.
Discoveries and inventions that have changed the world over the past 100 years were presented on Web 43 by the subject area of science education and could be explored experimentally.
Creative approaches to the history of elementary school were made tangible in collaboration with the School Museum on Web 136.
The Art Lab (Web K014) invited visitors to try out methods of teaching art "yesterday" in order to elicit biographical memories and make "art teaching today and tomorrow" colorfully visible.
During the event, student teachers' test pieces were also displayed and awarded prizes in the open workshop Works/WTH (Web K001-006).
Finally, student piano music brought the Long Night of the Workshops to a close.
For all those interested, there is the possibility to visit the participating workshops again during their opening hours or further events.
