Dresden working group as guest in London (18.06. to 21.06.2024)
"Playing with representations - Children's pathways through mathematical discoveries " - this was the title of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Schorcht's talk to Dr. Carla Finesilver and Prof. Dr. Lulu Healy as well as students from the Centre for Research in Education in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CRESTEM) at King's College London on 19 June 2024. The aim of the three-day visit to London, which also involved other members of the Dresden research group, was to network with local researchers, discuss the initial results of current research projects and plan future joint research projects.
The meeting strengthened the international exchange and reflection of research approaches as well as the differentiation of central concepts and content of the core research area "Representation in mathematics education".
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Carla Finesilver and Prof. Dr. Lulu Healy for the warm welcome and the lively, productive exchange during the research meetings.
We would also like to thank Dr. Maike Heber and all other stakeholders of the transCampus funding program, which partly co-financed the trip and thus contributed to its success.
