Research at our Chair

Learning and teaching math is the focus of the Chair of Primary Education/ Mathematical Education. The research at our Chair addresses teaching and learning processes. More specifically, Primary Education/Mathematical Education explores the conditions for successful mathematical learning processes for children.

What learning arrangements are helpful for learning success in the field of mathematics? What thinking and working techniques are required for attaining mathematical findings? What level of mathematical ability should elementary schoolchildren strive to attain? And can this consideration help us to achieve a logical-genetic structure of mathematical learning or a mathematically necessary education for the future? How does math learning take place in the age of digitalization?
